Appearance Meme - CFUD
Clothing/Appearance:
The light novels describe Accelerator as having "a wire-like slender body," and "skin that is so pale it’s terrifying, that it can be seen clearly even in the darkness." His eyes are red, and his hair is white and fluffily shaggy. There is some variation in hair length in his icons due to different canon points; please assume it's goes roughly to the shoulders as depicted above. This albinic trinity has given him comparisons in the novels to a pale, red-eyed beast. Back to his body. He's wiry and stereotypically Asian, with not much muscle mass or toning. In the manga he himself states that he has a "genderless figure" thanks to a hormonal imbalance, one of the side effects of his ability. Most likely, he was referring to his thin, girlish waist and the fact that he's not all that broad. (The anime does give him some muscle in the upper arms and a bit of a jawline, but otherwise lol no.) He literally cannot tan or sunburn; his ability deflects UV rays, and the novels have confirmed that UV ray deflection is built into his choker's Normal Mode.
Accelerator usually wears pants and shirts that are predominantly black, white, and/or gray. Two of the more common ones are the trademark shirts depicted in the majority of his icons. The above images show some newer concept designs; these are also part of his wardrobe here. He has shown a preference for sleek dark or pale shoes, but may also wear sleek boots. He frequently wears a gun at his left hip in a clip-on holster.
Then there is the special choker with its wires and electrode. PLEASE IGNORE ANY INCONSISTENCY IN ICONS REGARDING THIS OR HIS CANE. Only depicted in images from newer canon or fanart so far, Accelerator's choker and its wires are always present. The black box on the choker is a network terminal that connects him to the MISAKA Network, which he currently needs to function due to a traumatic brain injury. He requires a cane to walk when not in ESPer Mode. He has three different canes: two retractable (the one pictured above and a version without the claw legs), and one not (the one shown in the choker/electrode picture linked above). The retractable canes have straps so that he can wear it on his wrist when in retracted mode. He prefers to use the cane with his right hand; this allows him to easily access the switch on his choker with his left.
Special Note: Accelerator has a slightly muted scent thanks to his heavily concentrated AIM dispersion field. This is much more noticeable when he's in ESPer Mode, as those with heightened senses of smell may notice that it feels like he's not all there, it's so faint. In Normal Mode there's only a slight difference from other people.
Habits/Mannerisms/Body Language:
Accelerator is not particularly open in his body language, but he doesn't give off the vibe of a closed-off person either. It's more that he doesn't go out of his way to touch others very much. That said, he does prefer his personal space, and will go out of his way to maintain at least half a meter distance if he must. Invade his personal space and he will show discontent on varying levels, as it depends on his mood and who you are. When in ESPer Mode he is capable of forcibly preventing anyone from so much as touching him via Redirection. He is prone to both slouching and straight posture, and often does that leaning-forward thing seen in his icons. This is relatively representative of normal. So is this bendy stance.
There's a somewhat noticeable difference in his walking with cane vs without cane; his brain damage seriously affects his motor skills and balance, something that Normal Mode cannot completely compensate for. Accelerator in ESPer Mode can simply use vector manipulation to control any vectors acting on his body including gravity and therefore has no mobility issues whatsoever. He is somewhere in the middle when it comes to hand gestures; he makes free use of them particularly with his left hand, but is not overly expressive or reliant on them. Pointing, facepalming, flicking/hitting people, holding his chin in his hand when seated and such are what you can generally expect from him.
Verbally he is all over the place. Accelerator speaks in a low, neutral-toned voice with occasional stress on words or intonations. (Link is mildly NSFW.) At times he takes on a condescending, sarcastic, bored, or even smug tone. His voice has its dynamics, though, such as when he's riled up or excited. He's even prone to maniacal cackling, ridiculous yelling and sound effect vocalizations of vector calculations. His voice tends to go higher when something going on is of interest or entertainment to him. It may sound sadistic, amused, mocking, or downright dramatic. He is neither entirely polite nor entirely slangy, mostly casual with some swearing and some good grammar when he feels like it. You will know when he's taunting you. Prone to scoffs and tongue clucking when you do not impress him.
As for facial expression, Accelerator often has a blank, neutral expression as his default. You can blame years of acting cold and emotionless toward eveyone for that. He's very expressive, however. That neutral look can and will quickly change to a glare, a grin, a smirk, smugness, annoyance, surprise, rage, crazed amusement, etc. I could keep going. He is known to flash wide-eyed grins when pissed.
Current Residence(s):
Accelerator lives in the Milk Dipper with a Himalayan cat named Scalar and an albino Australian cattle dog puppy named Ray. Airi gave him the key when she left Camp.
Typical Daily Routine:
Accelerator frequently sleeps in past noon and goes to bed between 1am and 4am. He eats at the mess hall whenever he feels like it, without any set breakfast-lunch-dinner schedule. He can go through a pot of coffee at a time, and often will. He spends most of his time either in the library, the Milk Dipper, the Mess Hall, the shooting range, the forests, or the Middle of Camp.
Accelerator can often be found outside after dark. Though UV rays have no effect on his skin, he much prefers nighttime over daytime because it is easier on his eyes.
Favorite Haunts:
The library, the Milk Dipper.
Does he make his own bed?:
